Are Some of Your Designs Out of the Basket?

April 17, 2009 · Filed Under No-Basket Gifts

emotion is what sells gift basketsI’ve been asked by a long-time client to make some support staff gifts that don’t include baskets.

These creations are relatively easy to make, and I bet you feel the same about the non-basket gifts you create.

In my gift basket classes, I often tell new business owners that we are more than gift basket designers.

We are gift solution specialists.

That designation lets customers know that you are to be called when they require any type of gift, not just the ones housed in baskets.

My no-basket gifts are made with three items. Two are foods and one is a memorable gift.

How many items are included in your non-basket gifts?

Yes most of my designs are not in the basket. I think that a unique container is much more creative and personal. Clients are more liekly to use a vase rather than a boring basket.

Non-basket containers are also what I chose as vessels when starting my business.

I did so, as you have Mireya, to set my designs apart from others in my location, even if not many in the area were making gift baskets.

That decision paid off for me in terms of promotion and originality.
