A Great Script Sells Gift Baskets All Day

by Shirley George Frazier on May 4, 2009

start strong when you begin selling gift basketsTwo weeks ago, I met with five gift basket designers who asked me how I captured the large accounts I’ve talked about in the past.

They wanted to know how I moved the discussion with corporate prospects from the initial conversation to writing the sale.

Thinking about my strategy, I didn’t believe this tactic was difficult, but after talking with them, I realized that it’s not easy to determine what to say to convince corporate clients to buy.

Right there, at the meeting, I began writing down the step-by-step process to get corporate orders every time you meet with them.

One of the designers Emailed me last week to share her good news. She reviewed the script before meeting with a prospective client at a healthcare firm, then walked out of the meeting with a huge order.

She’ll deliver 500 gift baskets to their facility in late June, another 500 in September, and the last 500 of the year in early December. Those 1,500 baskets will give her a gross sales total of $150,000.

How does your sales script move you through the conversation from introduction to the order?
