Your Feedback as We Move into Fall
Because I’m an author and frequent speaker at trade shows throughout the U.S. (designers in other countries - I’ll be in your area sooner than you think), it’s easy for me to write articles for this blog that I believe are beneficial for you.
However, this time I’d like to step aside and let you have your say.
We’re moving into the fall and holiday sales seasons. Tell me what ideas and information you’d like to read, learn about, and know more in depth to increase your gift basket sales in this last half of 2009.
Every question and topic is open, including advice in writing and in video formats. I have a list of what I’m planning, but my list means nothing if it’s not beneficial for you.
Give me your feedback by adding your comments, ideas, and feedback here. In return, I’ll choose 5 people at random who respond to receive several CDs and DVDs in my inventory. These items are listed on the newly-updated GiftBasketBusiness.com Resources page.
I look forward to reading your ideas and assisting you to create a bountiful business in the upcoming seasons.

Hi Shirley,
Well, I’m updating my website andd will be sending out an announcement that it’s been revamped. I’m also sending out postcards the end of this month and beginning of September to REMIND everyone that I’m STILL here. With a lot of business closing their doors, I want to let everyone know that I haven’t.
I have also made some contacts to try and get some corporate people interested in my “budget” line

I would like to know if basket designers are concerned that the recession will effect holiday sales and if they plan to offer holiday promotions to boost sales.
I’m optimistic about holiday sales this year. I’d like to hear more about finding corporate clients. I always read about people who worked in the corporate world and later started a business so they already had many contacts. What’s the best way to “infiltrate” this market if you’re on the outside looking in? Also any tips you might have for when I do land those big corporate orders this year.
Hi Shirley,
i am reading your blog just a few weeks and i´m really “fresh” in this business and starting it in another part of the world - europe/germany.
Also the people in this country are really different - i´m mean, german like - i still look for tips for getting it real good delivered.
What are your special delivery tips or better packaging tricks - i still work on it - i´m will send them nationwide.
Good pictures from the baskets on the website!
Hope that you will have a ebook and download for your dvd´s in the future : - )
Shirley,
I’d like to know some of the things you do to encourage repeat orders from your customers? Also, how did you cope with consumer spending downturns in the past?
Thanks, Consuela
Hi Shirley,
The two “major” gift basket businesses have closed in my area. I am home-based and would like to expand my business to pick up some corporate accounts. Can you offer suggestions on how to do that?
