One of the better projects that I plan for myself and also practice with my designer clients is early calendar planning for yearly special events that impact gift basket sales.
While you cannot plan for birthday and thank you baskets (outside of buying merchandise), which are ordered at a moment’s notice, knowing when events such as Mother’s Day and Thanksgiving will occur allows you to market your value to customers in advance.
How do you set up your plan? Do you plot your marketing on a printed calendar, or is a computer-based customer relationship management program more your style?
Whichever one is your partner, be sure to review your planning often so that when the time comes, you begin unleashing your strategy little by little before the event arrives.
That will give customers lots of time to know what you offer and encourage them to place orders before the event is here.
