What You Learn from Holiday Gift Basket Ads

What You Learn from Holiday Gift Basket Ads, by Shirley George Frazier. All rights reserved.Large companies specializing in making lots of gift baskets for corporations and retail customers are currently advertising their need for hands-on help.

Have you seen the ads?

Even if you work on your own and plan to continue as a solo designer, it’s wise to read the ads to recognize what competitive companies seek in temporary help.

  • Who’s hiring?
  • Where are they located?
  • What are the working hours?
  • It the job temporary or permanent?
  • What’s the wage?
  • What’s mentioned about the environment?
  • What experience, if any, is required?

This is the time to not only look for and read the ads but also copy and paste the entire ad, saving it on a spreadsheet, in a Word document, or in another place where you can easily access the information.

You have goals for your gift basket business, and right now it may include employees or it may not require extra workers. This decision is very important to the VIP designers I mentor because it’s not a decision to take lightly or to make on your own.

Compiling information on competitors’ needs, whether they are in your geographic area, somewhere in your country, or internationally based, provides you with hints about their operation. It also gives you a foundation for how to write your own ads if and when you’re ready to hire.

I’m seeing ads every day for gift basket help needed in the U.S. and in other countries. What are you finding, and how do you plan to use the content?
