How to Promote Your Holiday Gift Baskets
Stories about giving, receiving, and making gift baskets permeate the news during the holidays, and this season is no exception.
The media is looking for any and all information about gift giving, and hopefully your marketing strategy includes your own search for media exposure, which includes:
- Print (newspapers, blogs)
Broadcast TV is still, and will always be, the promotional avenue that brings you lots of traffic. However, print media also creates a huge increase in telephone calls and website visitors from people who want to know about your gifts and baskets, and that leads to sales.
Preparing for interviews is critically important. How you present your company makes a big difference in the type of business that comes your way due to the promotion.
My article, Five Ways to Prepare For and Control Media Interviews, explains your duty to ensure that coverage about your gifts and gift baskets is done properly so you maximize holiday and every day marketing.
The first time I was interviewed by a local newspaper was indeed a triumph. You can see the photo in the above picture. Not only did the article appear on the front page of the Sunday edition, but the story also increased sales that year from people who read the article, became clients, and referred friends and family.
That initial exposure encouraged me to continue promoting through the press, and that led to television appearances on Food Network, CNBC, and New Jersey Network within a one-year period.
I learned a lot of lessons along the way, and many of those lessons are included in the article I hope you’ll read and learn from as you pursue promotions this holiday.
The article’s tips will help you to not only receive more coverage but also position your business for greater success all year round.
