This is a great point, and I know that designers who are fighting with the "should I or shouldn't I" dilemma will better recognize when enhancements are to be added and when showcasing the products is right.

We tend to agree with you. We only add enhancements when they go with a certain theme or if they are asked for. Otherwise, it's more on a 'when we feel like it' basis.

We've found that most people appreciate what's in the basket more than what's on it.

Hi Kathy,

A ribbon rack 5 feet tall that you maxed out in no time? Now that's ribbon loving!

You're very strong to be on a expansion fast though I'm sure what you see on your rack is sheer (no pun intended) beauty.

So true! I love ribbon. My husband built me a lovely ribbon rack that is 3 feet wide and 5 feet tall. I maxed it out in no time at all and still have boxes of ribbon. I am on a ribbon fast right now!

Hi Sandi,

Also being in NJ I agree with you regarding restrictions. However, I'm glad to have read articles in the past proving that some towns are becoming more accommodating to at-home businesses.

I can understand why permits are necessary; it does make sense. What doesn't make sense is to restrict at-home businesses of any type. That type of law increases unemployment and decreases opportunities for people who legitimately want to work at home doing things that grow the economy, puts food on more tables, and allows entrepreneurs to share their successes with others who can learn from the experience.

Here in New Jersey, it is still quite restrictive, in my opinion. You need to have a permit for every little thing which just costs more money. Because in NJ, its usually all about the money. Hopefully, that will change soon.

Coletta,

You say that you want to know about a better marketing plan. That tells me you already have a plan in place, but it may not be working for you.

What marketing are you currently doing?
